Making College Dreams Come True

The Mountain Scholars initiative aims to empower aspiring first generation, low-income, and academically motivated students in completing a four-year college degree or postsecondary certificate by providing financial and academic support throughout college along with extensive one-on-one mentoring, college navigation and other support services such as career planning and academic tutoring.

Mountain Scholar Benefits

• FREE One-on-One Mentoring and Tutoring over the course of their attendance at CMC

• FREE College Navigation Services to support the transition to an accredited Colorado 4-Year College or University of their choice

• $4,000 scholarship for both junior and senior years

Requirements

• Achieve and maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average at Colorado Mountain College (CMC)

• Participate in the CMC Mentoring Program

• Apply for acceptance by the end of the first year at CMC and reapply each year for funding

• Complete mutually agreed upon goals with CMC Mentor and CMC College Navigator

• Have plans to enroll in a partnering four-year program at CMC or a college/university and graduating with four-year college degree or career certificate
